Athletic Programs

Gwinnett County Public Schools middle school athletic programs include the following sports:

Basketball
Cheerleading
Cross County
Soccer
Volleyball (Girls Only)
Flag Football (Girls Only)

Eligibility for all sports includes 6th - 8th grades. Athletic programs are open for both boys and girls except where noted above.

General Participation Requirements

Rank One Submission: All paperwork, including insurance and consent forms, must be submitted via the Rank One website or app.
Physicals: A physical examination is required and must be uploaded to Rank One.
Validity: Physicals are valid for one year only.
Applicability: These requirements apply to all sports
Clinics: Rank One paperwork and physicals are not required for clinics, only for tryouts. Clinics are not mandatory to participate in tryouts.

Important Information

No outside physical forms will be accepted through RankOne (i.e. GFL, out-of-state forms, doctor-provided forms, etc). Only the official GHSA form linked here will be accepted.

Must have an up-to-date physical signed by a doctor.

- Create an account
  - To create a new parent account, select “ Create New Account Account”
  - If you already have a Parent Account, you may use your credentials to log in.
    - Not sure if you have an account? Select “Search for your account” to see if you have already registered.
      - If you forgot your password, select “ Click here ” next to “Forgot your password” and you will be emailed a reset password link.

After creating an account, you will be able to upload the completed physical, sign and complete the consent/insurance page, and acknowledge the cardiac arrest and concussion pages. Clinic/Tryouts

Basketball Clinic

There will be a Basketball Clinic prior to tryouts for any interested student in grades 6-8.

When: Tuesday, September 15 - Thursday, September 17 from 4:15 PM - 5:30 PM

Where: Lanier Middle School Gym

Other: Clinic is not mandatory to be able to tryout

Registration: My Payments Plus Cost is $45

Limit: Clinic will be capped at 40 participants.

Basketball Tryouts

Girls/Boys Basketball Tryouts will be held on

Monday, September 28th through Tuesday, September 29th from 4:15 PM - 6:30 PM
Wednesday, September 30th through Friday, October 2nd, tryouts will be held from 4:15-6:00 pm.

Teams will be announced Friday afternoon, October 2nd.

All paperwork including a current physical must be uploaded in RankOne in order to tryout.
